Chief Chekwas Okorie, the founder of APGA, and currently the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, has unequivocally called for disciplinary measures against Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. Dr. Okorie who made the call on Wednesday in Abuja during a press conference, narrated how Governor Soludo has been working against APGA under the rightful leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku.

According to Okorie, “It has become abundantly clear that Governor Soludo is determined as he threatened, to sacrifice APGA rather than submit to Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of our great party,” Okorie regretted. He further alleged that Governor Soludo only recently sponsored Chief Victor Oye, the former National Chairman of the party, to institute a case against the party. “The audacity of sponsoring Chief Victor Oye to embark on this latest misadventure at the Court of Appeal is incredible,” Okorie said.

Earlier, the Chairman of APGA’s Board of Trustees had alleged that Oye in the instance of Soludo, had approached the Court of Appeal “for a leave of court to appeal to the Supreme Court to mischievously include three other reliefs, which are tantamount to reopening a suit the Court of Appeal has dismissed”.

Okorie who claimed that repeated opportunities extended to the governor by the current APGA leadership for peace, has been met with stiff opposition, alluded that Soludo is undeserving of such peace deals. To buttress, he narrated that even after the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Edozie Njoku, honoured Soludo’s invitation, it was the same. “Chief Edozie Njoku, the National Chairman of APGA, honoured Governor Soludo’s invitation to his Abuja residence. Needless to say, the meeting that lasted for nearly 3 long hours was more of a monologue that turned out to be Chief Edozie’s waste of valuable time that could have been deployed to something more productive,” Dr. Chekwas Okorie noted. This meeting he further remarked was then followed by “another frivolous suit by one Mr. Sly Ezeokenwa, a Special Assistant to Governor Soludo who claims to have been elected as the National Chairman of APGA in an illegal convention that was nullified by the judgement of the FCT High Court”.

Given the circumstances, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of APGA Dr. Chekwas Okorie, called on the National Working Committee – NWC of APGA, to immediately activate disciplinary measures against Governor Chukwuma Soludo on grounds of antiparty activities.
