Kamala Harris Baits Raging Donald Trump Into His Worst Self In Debate Face-Off
From the moment Kamala Harris confidently strode over to Donald Trump’s side of the presidential debate stage to introduce herself and offer a handshake, it was clear that the vice president was a different kind of Democrat than her opponent had ever encountered before.
In a pivotal exchange during the faceoff, Harris boldly declared, “It is widely known that Donald Trump is weak and misguided on national security and foreign policy.” Throughout the debate, Trump struggled to evade his own shortcomings, while Harris skillfully highlighted his weaknesses.
Entering Tuesday’s highly-anticipated ABC News-hosted event in Philadelphia as the underdog, Harris repeatedly labeled Trump as “weak,” causing him to scowl and stumble over his words. In contrast, Trump relied on fabricated social media stories, such as false claims about Haitian immigrants in Ohio, and failed to provide substantial details about his proposed alternative to Obamacare, admitting only to having “a concept of a plan.”
An instant CNN/SSRS survey revealed that most viewers considered Harris the winner of the debate, with 63 percent favoring her over Trump’s 37 percent. This victory was particularly significant as the same group of viewers had mixed expectations going into the debate, with 50 percent predicting Harris would win and 50 percent choosing Trump.
The flash survey was conducted Tuesday night by text message with voters recruited ahead of time who agreed to be surveyed after the debate was over. The margin of error for the poll — which does not reflect the electorate as a whole — is plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.
