The Adamawa State Government will create additional chiefdoms through due process of legal framework.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri dropped the hint Saturday at Banquet hall Government House, Yola when a delegation of Heba Community from Hong local government area led by General Haldu Hananiya (Rted) paid him a courtesy call.
He said a bill to that effect will be sent to Adamawa State House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.
“I want to assure you that Government will study your request of its desirability or otherwise of it, and if we find out there is need for us to create Heba Chiefdom we will not hesitate to send a bill to the State House of Assembly for that.
“We will ensure that it go through the legal framework and pass it into law and gives you what belongs to you, after all the state belongs to all of us, and the state today, nobody should carry last and we should not have a starter where we have Third class or Second class, all of us should work to be First class,” Fintiri said.
The Governor thanked the community for their support to the administration and reassured Adamawa residents of his administration’s commitment to positive change, security, and progress.
Earlier, leader of the delegation, General Haldu Hananiya (Rted), while commending Governor Fintiri for transforming the state, requested for upgrading the status of chieftaincy of Heba Community.
