The Jose A Centeno International Centre for Medical Geology Research at Nasarawa State University in Keffi received an international award during the 75th Generall Assembly and Scientific Congress of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy, which was held in Bra, Romania, in Eastern Europe.
Prof. Ktso Nghargbu, the Chairman of the International Centre for Medical Geology Research at Narasawa State University, received the recognition and award on behalf of the Centre and University, at the Congress which was also attended by the World Health Organization, among other reputable and global agencies.
Receiving the award, Prof. Ktso thanked the leadership and management of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, for taking the bold step to establish the medical geological research centre at the university. “I am dedicating this award to all Nasarawa State University’s Senators, who saw the need for us to pioneer research in this field,” Prof. Ktso said. He also thanked the International Medical Geology Association – IMGA, as well as the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society – NMGS, for their support in setting up the Medical Geology Research Centre at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
With the International Centre for Medical Geology Research in Nasarawa State University Keffi, the Institution is the first in the world to offer degree programmes in Medical Geology.
