Sir Paul Chukwuma, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress – APC, the former National Auditor of the party and currently Pro-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, as well as an aspirant of the party in the 2025 Anambra Governorship election, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the recent commencement of operations at the Port Harcourt refinery, abandoned many years ago.
Mr. Chukwuma while applauding this feat by President Tinubu, linked it to the President’s vision of de-regularization which put an end to the fuel subsidy regime, thereby creating an enabling environment for a bold economic vision of fair competition and quality service delivery, as against the subsidy regime of little or no competition. According to Paul Chukwuma, the story of the Port Harcourt refinery proves that the president’s direction to restore the fortunes of Nigeria is viable.
In his words, “The President’s commitment to re-jig the economy has now proven to be steadfast. Today, we stand in awe as the Port Harcourt refinery returns to operation after decades of inactivity. It is a testimony to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s resolve to change the fundamentals of our economy and guarantee energy security. This fits into the APC’s belief in prosperity for all Nigerians,” Sir Paul Chukwuma said.
Calling on the President not to relent, Sir Paul Chukwuma also urged Nigerians to be hopeful and have faith in the government, assuring that the fruits of the renewed hope agenda were bound to become the real experience of Nigerians in no time.
