Madam Ugoye who is arguably one of the oldest women in Umunnachi, passed on a few months ago at the age of one hundred and eleven years.

While she lived, she shared a special relationship with Uzu Okagbue; a relationship that dates back to when Uzu was growing up and continued till her death. In 2022 when Uzu ran for senate, her residence in Nagbana village, Umunnachi, Dunukofia local government area, was his first point of call before he began his consultation for the senate race.

Madam Ugoye is survived by her son, Ichie Uzodimma Ajemba, among her other children, grandchildren and great-grand children. She will be interred at her residence on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Until her death, Madam Ugoye has her mind still intact. Before her retirement due to old age, she was a business woman and a farmer. Also, she was a popular and respected figure in her village of Nagbana. Her funeral is expected to draw noteworthy figures, especially many who knew the special bond she shared with Uzu Okagbue.
