…Distributes Rice to Members
A political support Group, Youth Earnestly Seeking Solution – YESS, founded by Dr. Nelson Omenugha, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programmes, has held its fifth carol of nine lessons in Awka. This event also featured distribution of hundreds of bags of rice to members across the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State.
The get-together which was well attended by leaders of the group across Anambra State was held at the International Convention Centre in Awka and had Christmas choir groups that treated the audience to diverse memorable Christmas renditions. This yearly event started in 2019 when the group was formed and has been convened each year since then.
Addressing the group, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, the convener, thanked members for all their efforts towards promoting the ethos of the group throughout the year 2024 so far. He also thanked the Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for demonstrating the APGA spirit of being one’s brother’s keeper, even as he commended the group’s members and leaders for staying true to the governor’s vision.
According to Dr. Omenugha, although 2024 has been a very challenging year, yet, the get-together has been designed for YESS members to have a feel of the Christmas season and to also have a reason to be grateful. “What we are doing in YESS is to join hands together to ensure that our mission is progressing and this is an opportunity to appreciate our members”, Omenugha said in a brief interview with journalists. Earlier, in his address, Dr. Nelson Omenugha said that the gathering was to encourage the group’s leadership. “We put forward this carol as a means of bringing the leadership of YESS in different wards of different local governments and zones in the state together so that we appreciate them for staying strong to achieve the ambition of the group.”
YESS was convened by Dr. Nelson Omenugha as a Soludo youth support group that campaigned fervently for the emergence of Prof. Soludo as the APGA’s candidate and eventually as governor, through its politics of stake holding. Since Soludo’s election in 2021, the group has transformed from Youth Earnestly Seeking Soludo to Youth Earnestly Seeking Solution. This year’s get-together was attended by Hon. Ebuka Igwe, House of Assembly member representing Idemili South local government area in Anambra State House of Assembly, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the APGA National Publicity Secretary, among others.
