Operatives of Ogun State Police command have rescued Sikirat, the kidnapped wife of retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, killed the kidnappers, and recovered the ransom reportedly paid to them.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer stated this on Thursday.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, the Commissioner of Ogun State Police Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo is billed to address newsmen on the development later on Thursday.
Adejobi, who disclosed that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, had reacted to the development, stated this on his X handle (formerly Twitter): “BREAKING: Police Neutralise AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s wife Kidnappers, Recovers Ransom.
“The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job.
“We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.”
Recall that Sikirat was kidnapped as she made to enter her home in Arepo area of Ogun State last week Wednesday.
She was attacked by four masked men when she was about to enter home at about 9:30pm.
The assailants according to reports, dragged her from her Lexus Jeep and took her through swampy areas to an unknown location
