About 890 Secondary School students who enrolled at the Nigeria Tulip International College (NTIC), Mamudo have been awarded scholarships totaling N2.225 billion by the Yobe State Government.
The scholarship, which spans six years, will support students from JSS 1 through SSS3.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, while making an official scholarship presentation at the NTIC Mamudo event hall, said, “The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, uniforms, books, and living expenses,” pointing out that the scholarship initiative is part of a broader effort to revitalize education in the state.
Represented by the Head of the State Civil Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara, the Governor reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and laying a solid foundation for future generations.
The governor urged beneficiaries to remain disciplined, work hard, and stay dedicated to their academic pursuits, adding that the state government would allocate N2.5 million per student annually.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Associate Prof. Abba Idriss Adam, described the programme as a transformative investment in education with the potential to shape the future of society.
He urged the students to maximize the opportunity by striving for academic excellence.
