Crime & SecurityNewsNigeriaRetired Immigration Comptroller General Killed by Kidnappers in Abuja

Retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, has been killed by kidnappers in Abuja after being abducted in the early hours of Tuesday.

Sources revealed that the former immigration chief was trailed by armed men from a bank where he had withdrawn money.

He was later taken hostage in the Area 1 district of Abuja, and his abductors reportedly stole the cash before killing him.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the rising wave of kidnappings and insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory.

Parradang, who served in the NIS for over three decades, held various key positions across the country before his appointment as Comptroller General.

He was a recipient of the national honour, Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), and an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Meanwhile, security agencies have launched an investigation to track down the perpetrators and uncover the circumstances surrounding his murder.
