In line with the vision of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla to curb crimes in the maritime sector and enhance security and economic prosperity in Nigeria, Naval Outpost Onitsha has distributed free educational materials to the pupils of Central Primary School, Ochuche, in  Ogbaru Council Area of Anambra State.
The initiative is part of non-kinetic approach of Operation Delta Sanity II, aimed at fostering strong civil-military relationship and improving security operations in the the South-East Region.
The distributed materials included whiteboards, exercise books, mass sets, markers, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, and other essential teaching and learning aids.
While handing over the items, the Commanding Officer, Naval Outpost Onitsha, Navy Captain Musa Jarma,  noted that security of lives and property has significantly improved in the area, with peace and stability  restored like never before.
He urged parents to take advantage of the renewed sense of safety and freedom from attacks, and encourage reading  culture among the younger generation.
Navy Captain Jarma further recalled that, in previous years, the school was non-functional due to severe insecurity that plagued the community.
He affirmed that through the efforts of Operation Delta Sanity II, confidence has been restored, and residents now feel safe to go about their daily activities without fear.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Veronica Daike, and President General Ochuche Community, Mr. Eric Obaze thanked the Nigerian Navy for coming to their aid at the time the school was in great need of academic materials.
