Chief Akai Egwuonwu, the frontline aspirant for the Anambra South senatorial by-election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance – APGA, has reinstated his commitment to stronger Anambra South with his legislative activities, when elected.

According to Egwuonwu, upon election into the Nigerian senate, he would focus on security, capacity-building, and using legislative instruments to advance the interests of his Anambra South constituents.

With a solid background in business and investments across Anambra State and beyond, Chief Akai Egwuonwu argued that it is better to create an army of job givers than job seekers.  According to Akai, drawing from his experience in assisting Micro Small, and Medium Enterprises – MSMEs, over the years with start-up capital and assistance for expansion, he is convinced that many people will excel if they get the support that targets helping them to succeed. “I can assure you that many people want to be in a position where they can provide for themselves and even help others, pay their bills and all. However, many of them do not have the precise support they require to be able to stand out,” Egwuonwu said. He also hinted that he would be particular about youths and how best they can be harnessed to become an asset not just to themselves, but their communities.

According to Akai Egwuonwu, agriculture alone has the full capability to transform the fortunes of millions of people. With substantial investment in the agricultural sector, Egwuonwu’s confidence in the potential of the agricultural sector to address food security, demand for jobs, and creating new successful entrepreneurs, is infectious.

The Senate declared the Anambra South senatorial seat vacant only about two weeks ago. So far, APGA and APC are the two most serious contenders preparing for the eventual commencement of the process to the by-election by the Independent National Electoral Commission—INEC.
