A 35-year-old man, Abdulaziz Mohammed has been arrested by the Police in Adamawa for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old minor in Mubi North local government area of the state.
According to the statement by the Adamawa State Police Command spokesman SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, at the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters.
“On the 17th March 2025, the suspect lured her into his grinding engine shop located at Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi North, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her, knowing fully well that she is a minor.
“The victim was immediately rushed to the medical facility in Mubi for medical examination and treatment.
“The suspect confessed to committing the crime and was taken into custody for more findings,” the statement said.
The State Commissioner of Police Dankwambo Morris who condemned the act had directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, for a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure justice is served.
CP Morris reiterated police commitment to its fight against all forms of sexual abuse and gender-based violence.
He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children closely and report individuals of questionable character to the police.
