The reign of terror of Kachalla Isuhu Yellow, one of Nigeria’s most feared bandit commanders, has come to a bloody end.
He was shot dead on Friday at Dan Jibga Market in Zamfara State by gunmen loyal to rival warlord Dogo Gide.
The report was first published by counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who revealed that Yellow had been on the run after sustaining injuries in a clash with security forces.
However, his real trouble began on 25 March 2025, when he murdered another top bandit leader, Kachalla Bakin Sifindi, near Sabon Birni.
This move infuriated Dogo Gide, who saw it as a direct provocation and sought swift retaliation. Determined to avenge Sifindi’s death, Gide’s men relentlessly pursued Yellow, ultimately catching him off guard in Dan Jibga Market.
“Dogo Gide has been hunting Isuhu Yellow for a long time. After the attack on Bakin Sifindi, Gide’s men were determined to eliminate him,” an intelligence source confirmed. “He let his guard down in Dan Jibga Market, and they got him.”
Yellow was infamous for leading brutal raids on villages and highways across Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, and Niger States.
He masterminded numerous kidnappings, including the 2022 Abuja-Kaduna train attack that left dozens abducted. His gang terrorised communities, extorted millions in ransom, and killed security personnel in ambushes.
