Nigeria’s national football team the Super Eagles has risen one spot to 43rd in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, placing sixth in Africa.
Argentina remains the world’s top-ranked team, with Spain moving up to second place, overtaking France, which drops to third. England and Brazil retain their fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The Netherlands has risen to sixth, pushing Portugal to seventh, while Belgium, Italy, and Germany are in the top ten.
In Africa, Morocco now leads the continent, ranked 12th globally, ahead of Senegal, which drops to 19th.
Egypt (32nd) and Algeria (36th) each climbed one spot to third and fourth in Africa.
Defending African champions Côte d’Ivoire surged five places to 41st, securing fifth place in the region.
Nigeria sits two spots below Côte d’Ivoire in 43rd, with Tunisia (49th) completing Africa’s top seven.
The next FIFA rankings will be released on 10th July.
