Ugo, the son of an iconic and distinguished Igbo businessman Emma Bishop Okonkwo, has tied the knot traditionally with his heartthrob Kene, the daughter of a successful oil magnet, Ernest Azudialo Obiejesi, known more popularly as Obijackson. The traditional marriage held on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre of the Obijackson’s Acropolis in Okija was a gathering of premium businessmen, traditional rulers, and politicians affiliated with at least one of the two powerful families. The Ichi-born Chief Emma Bishop Okonkwo, is a businessman of immense reputable standing, who for nearly four decades or more owns the franchise for some of the most used and common products in the market. On the other hand, Okija-born Chief Ernest Obiejesi is an oil magnate with a vast interest in the oil business which the Nest Oil’s Tower at the centre of Victoria Island in Lagos speaks to.

Many friends of the family across the Southeast and beyond were in attendance. The former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori was in attendance. Businessman, Chief Okey Ezeibe was also in attendance. Chief Uzu Okagbue, a close friend of Bishop Okonkwo and family was at the event. Businessman and philanthropist, Chief Ifeanyi Ekwelugo, and many other reputable and popular businessmen were at the event. The Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Eze of Arochukwu, Igwe Mbaukwu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Peter Anugwu, and many other respected traditional rulers were present. The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 Presidential Election, Mr. Peter Obi, was in attendance. Chief Osita Chidoka, President of Athena Centre, was at the occasion. Senator Victor Umeh and Senator Tony Nwoye, representing Anambra Central and Anambra North respectively, were at the event. Former senator and former minister, Dr. Chris Ngige, was equally at the event, among many other politicians. Legal icon, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, was in attendance. Dakuku Peterside of Rivers State, Obinna Iyiegbu of Cubana fame, Ikenna Iyiegbu, and many others graced the occasion with their presence.

Popular musician, Phyno was on the ground to give guests a warm and remarkable experience with special tunes. The Obijackson’s Acropolis provided an excellent ambiance for an event of that magnitude, elegantly showing the full weight of the taste and style of the host. It was all glamour, to the delight and entertainment of guests.
