No fewer than 125 cases of rape, vandalism, theft, murder/culpable homicide, and other civil and criminal offenses have been prosecuted by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, between January and December 2025.
Mr. Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, Jigawa State Commandant of the NSCDC disclosed this while speaking to journalists on the Command’s achievements and challenges in the outgoing year.
He explained that the Command has adopted a proactive approach to crime prevention, resulting in a reduction in criminal cases compared to 2024.
Ingawa stated that the Command also aborted more than 30 attempted acts of vandalism targeting power lines, water supply facilities, and other public infrastructure, resulting in numerous recoveries.
“During the year under review, the Command trained over 9,000 private guards involved in school security and the protection of other public and private facilities,” he said.
He, however, acknowledged the synergy and collaboration with Jigawa State Government, other sister security agencies, as well as support from the general public, reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring sustainable peace and stability across the state and Nigeria in general.
