An explosion has rocked Bagudo General Hospital area of Kebbi State in the early hours of Tuesday.
SP Bashir Usman Anisma, Kebbi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, said that a joint security team comprising police, military, and vigilante personnel has already been mobilized to the affected area.
He said Specialist EOD-CBRN teams are on-site to conduct a thorough assessment of the situation at the hospital.
He also confirmed that there were no casualties, but a building in the hospital’s staff quarters was damaged, and its occupants had been evacuated safely.
SP Anisma explained that the state’s Commissioner of Police had reinforced the area with additional tactical deployments to maintain public order, adding that a comprehensive investigation was in progress.
The police urged the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate vicinity to support the ongoing security and investigative operations.
