The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to stem the tide of insecurity ravaging Niger State.

Shaibu made the declaration during a visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago in Minna and was received at the Council Chamber of Government House, Minna, by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba.
He plans are underway to provide additional resources for training and doctrine of the TRADOC Nigerian Army to help address the issue of insecurity confronting the state.
“My visit is to declare open the Training and Doctrine Command Conference for the year, which will galvanises all the activities they are going to do and how they can improve in both training and doctrine,” he said.
Shaibu further stated that he will use the opportunity to conduct operational visits to Headquarters 31 Artillery Brigade and 18 Brigade in Bida to assess operational gaps and address them.
The COAS then appreciated the state government for the continued support to the TRADOC Nigerian Army and all other formations in the state.
“The Nigerian Army looks forward to additional cooperation and collaboration with the state government,” he said.
Responding, Governor Bago assured the Army of his commitment to supporting security efforts, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for their determination to improve national security.
