The number of people massacred in Kwara State is beyond the figures the government is giving. A security expert, Salihu Dantata, has said that those killed in the incident are far beyond the figures released by the government, stressing that when the incident was happening, the inhabitants of the local government were transmitting the information.
Dantata was reacting to the incident as it relates to the number of those killed on Thursday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television.
“You see, starting from the federal government, that particular arena and access has just exited from Mamuda terrorist invasion. That was the same local government that had joined with the Baruto local government, where the Mamuda terrorists had threatened them not to go to the farm during the farming season.
“As the incident was happening, residents already started transmitting the information. Unfortunately, rescue did not come until a lot of people were massacred.
“Even the figure the government is trying to give now is beyond that. As I speak to you, before I got here, they told me they had casualties rising up to 300,” he said.
