Two governorship candidates have emerged as People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in just concluded governorship party’s primaries in Nasarawa state ahead of 2027 general elections.
Barrister Nyeson Wike’s faction led by Abdurahman Mohammed had their primaries on Sunday 24th May 2026, which the affirmed Dr Emmanuel Umbugado, as a candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa State.
While on 28th May 2026, Saminu Turaki’s led faction held their own primary which produce Architect Mohammed Ja’afaru as another governorship candidate for the PDP in the state.
When contacted Dr. Daniel Gimba the chairman Nasarawa State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said the party does not have faction, adding that the party had already conducted its primaries recently and candidates were emerged.
He explained that, the party doesn’t know anybody who is parading himself as a factional candidate of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
