Education has been described as a transformative force capable of empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and driving national development.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) at Lincoln University College Malaysia, Kumo Campus, Gombe State Dr. Umaru Aliyu made the assertion Saturday while addressing stakeholders in education during an education fair organized by the University held at Adamawa State College of Nursing Sciences Yola.
“We gather today not merely to attend an exhibition, but to open doors to new possibilities and empower our young people to shape successful futures. This landmark event represents a strategic partnership dedicated to making quality international education accessible to students across Nigeria.
“The choice of Yola and the North-East region for this Fair is both strategic and significant. Our region is blessed with talented, ambitious, and resilient young people whose potential deserves every opportunity to flourish. By bringing international benchmarks closer to our communities, this initiative bridges the information gap. Investing in education here is a direct investment in peace, prosperity, and sustainable development for our nation,” Aliyu said.
According to Dr. Aliyu, the fair was organised to provide parents and prospective students with accurate information about available academic opportunities and career pathways as well as  also learning about scholarship opportunities and professional development prospects.
“In a rapidly changing world driven by technology, healthcare advancement, and global interconnectedness, the demand for highly skilled, competitive graduates has never been greater,” DVC added.
He commended parents and guardians for their dedication and sacrifice in supporting the foundation of their children’s success, declaring that “Higher education is a major milestone, and I encourage you to engage deeply with the counselors present today so we can co-create bright paths for our youth”.
The DVC also commended the management of Lincoln University Malaysia and Kumo Education Services for their vision and investment in expanding access to quality higher education.
In their separate remarks, the stakeholders lauded the foresight of the management of Lincoln University College Malaysia for establishing its campus in Kumo Gombe State.
According to them, the idea has brought relief of traveling abroad for studies to obtain the same certificate with equal recognition to those who studied in Nigeria’s campus of the University.
The Kumo campus of the University will get enable students to obtain foreign degree locally offers courses in three faculties to include Management and Social Sciences, Science and Computing as well as Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.
The education fair featured video tour presentation that highlights admission process, students orientation, learning environment including practicals.
