The Kano Emirate Council on Saturday announced the death of Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero, mother of Emirs of Kano and Bichi Aminu Ado Bayero and Nasiru Ado Bayero.
According to the announcement on the Kano Emirate’s Facebook page, arrangements for her funeral rites will be announced later.
The deceased who died on Saturday in Egypt after a protracted illness was a widow of late Ado Bayero and a princess of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara state.
Until her death, she was holding the title of ‘Mai Babban Daki’ according to the mother of the reigning Emir.
