YOLA — The Adamawa state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development will punish any teacher that absconds from duty in school.
Commissioner in the Ministry, Mrs. Wilbina Jackson dropped the hint when she undertook supervision of schools in the state capital, and lamented the poor turn out of both students and teachers on resumption last week.
She warned teachers who are yet to resume after the new year break to do so in their own interest as the government will not condone laxity.
“Last week we received a report on the turnout of students particularly in Government schools, a situation that was unacceptable.
“Parents should send their children back to school and monitor their performance from time to time,” she said.
