NewsNigeriaPoliticsSimon Ekpa insists no election in southeast after release from police detention

Simon Ekpa, the spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has maintained that elections will not hold in the southeast after being freed by the Finnish police.

Ekpa was reportedly arrested on Thursday morning by officers from the Finnish Central Criminal Police due to his constant threats to boycott elections in southeastern states in order to actualise the liberation of Biafra.

However, he was released from police custody after hours of cross-examination.

Earlier this year, the Biafran agitator declared a sit-at-home in the southeast from February 23 to February 28 apparently to stop the conduct of the February 25 presidential and national assembly elections in the region.

Taking to his Twitter page on Friday, Ekpa celebrated the success of the day two of the sit-at-home while maintaining that there will be no election in the southeast region on Saturday.
