The Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) has arrested 632 suspected touts in different parts of the state after one week of its inauguration.
The Director of Operations for the Squad, Mr. Solomon Onwuemene disclosed this to journalists in Awka.
Mr. Onwuemene said that the suspected touts were arrested in Onitsha North and South, Ogbaru and Idemili North Local Government Areas.
According to him, they recovered hard drugs like white cocaine, packets of tramadol, methamphetamine or mkpuru mmiri among other illegal substances during the raid.
Mr. Onwuemene who assured Ndi Anambra that soon, there will be no more touting in the state, praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing them with enough logistics to do their job seamlessly.
The SASA Director of Operations also lauded the Anambra State Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Mr. Chikodili Anara for his numero uno support to them.
Mr. Onwuemene further revealed that all the suspects would be charged according to the law and warned those with criminal behaviours to leave the State or face the full wrath of the law.
