Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested 49 suspected members of the outlawed Shilla gangs that terrorize residents of the state capital including two women.
SP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje, the Command spokesman in a statement said the arrest followed renewed commitment of the Police to combating the menace of Shilla Gangsterism in the State.
“The Command’s recent operation was targeted to identify criminal hideouts and blackspots within the State Capital including areas around Geriyo Junction, Doubeli Junction, Jambutu Aso Rock, Behind Ramat College,Total Flyover leading to the arrest of 49 suspects including two women.
“These individuals are currently undergoing investigation to ensure that justice is served,” the statement said.
According to him, the Adamawa State Police Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris had assured members of the public that the Command will continue to employ all necessary resources and strategies to sustain the fight against SHILLA gangsterism in the State.
The Command then urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement around their neighbourhood to security agencies for prompt action.
