HealthNewsNigeriaAdamawa State Records 191 Suspected Cases of Meningitis

The State Ministry of Health has recorded 91 suspected cases of meningitis in eleven local government areas from January 2025 to date.

The State Epidemiologist in the state ministry of health, Doctor Kadabiyu Jones, who disclosed this, attributed the scourge to excessive heat in the state.

He said the affected local government areas are Fufore, Hong, Mayo-Belwa, Michika, Numan, Song, Mubi North, Mubi South, Yola North, Yola South, and Gombi.

Doctor Jones revealed that the state government has concluded an arrangement to commence immunization against the disease to curtail its spread to other parts of the state.

He advised the general public to drink a lot of water and fruits and live in a ventilated area, and wear light clothes.

Doctor Jones advised the public to be cautious of reptiles and other dangerous creatures that move around while sleeping in open spaces.
