The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 567 suspects for various offences within the second quarter of 2025.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP. Dankombo Morris disclosed this Monday while briefing Journalists at the Command’s headquarters, Yola, said the suspects were arrested for Kidnapping, Culpable homicide, Armed robbery, Child trafficking, shila gangsterism, Rape, and sexual offences.

“Out of the five hundred and sixty-seven (567) suspects arrested, the key suspects amongst them include: Mrs. Ngozi Abdulwahab, 43 years old, resident of Jambutu, Yola North LGA, Mrs. Uche Okoye, 55 years old, resident of Kabiku, Nnewi, Anambra State.

“These two (2) women were responsible for multiple child-stealing and trafficking cases from Adamawa to Anambra State and other parts of the country.

“Zephaniah Alfred, 29 years, who had long been on the Command’s wanted list for allegedly masterminding Armed Robbery activities along the Numan–Gombe road.

“Emmanuel Sale, 28 years, and Jibirilla Hassan, 36 years, were also apprehended by the Command’s Intelligence Department, following a credible intelligence. During interrogation, they confessed to having conspired and robbed one Salisu Umar of Sabon Gari, Jalingo, Taraba State, of his vehicle (Honda Accord, 2015 model).

“The Command equally arrested Tukur Adamu, 36 years old, a notorious drug dealer, who recently brutally murdered a young man who allegedly failed to remit ₦50,000 from the sale of Indian hemp. He was arrested by operatives of Jimeta Division for culpable homicide,” he said.

CP Morris thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his unwavering support in carrying out their operations and the good people of Adamawa State for providing timely and credible information, which has greatly aided in these achievements.

“We remain fully committed to protecting lives and property, and urge residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the police. Security is a collective responsibility.

“Therefore, if you see something, say something, as together, we can keep Adamawa State safe and secure,” he added.
