Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside some APC Governors and party officials, has officially received Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri into the APC fold following the defection of the governor from PDP.

The Vice President, while welcoming Fintiri into the APC at Ribadu Square, Yola, the Adamawa State capital, during a grand reception, commended the governor’s leadership style, saying the APC would continue to build a stronger and more inclusive political platform across the country.

Shettima also declared Governor Fintiri the APC leader in Adamawa State, urging party members to rally behind him to ensure unity and progress. He noted that with Fintiri at the helm, the party stands a strong chance of consolidating its influence in the state ahead of future elections.

He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring peace, security, and economic prosperity across the country and stressed that the Government, under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is determined to uplift Adamawa State through strategic partnerships and developmental initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare delivery.

According to Shettima, the APC remains a welcoming platform for all Nigerians, emphasizing that the party is committed to inclusiveness and good governance, described Fintiri’s defection as a major political development and a sign that the APC remains the party of choice for Nigerians.‎

In his remarks, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, assured the APC leadership that the state would deliver a landslide victory for the party in future elections, from the House of Assembly to the presidential poll.

Fintiri also praised the policies of President Tinubu, particularly his macro-economic reforms and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said were gradually repositioning Nigeria.‎

He noted that aligning Adamawa with the ruling party would accelerate development in the state and create more opportunities for the people.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, said the APC was delighted to welcome Fintiri into what he described as the largest political party in the country.

He noted that the party now controls the majority of states in Nigeria and is committed to delivering democratic dividends to the people.

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda also congratulated the governor, saying his entry into the APC would strengthen the party’s presence in Adamawa and boost its prospects in national politics.

In his address, Chairman of the APC in Adamawa State, Shuaibu Idris, described the governor as a major political force whose entry into the party would strengthen its chances ahead of future elections.

He said Fintiri’s administration had achieved significant gains in infrastructure and governance, adding that the party was ready to work with him to consolidate those gains.
