Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa has urged members of the Igbo community in Adamawa and those in the diaspora to remain united and continue to live peacefully with one another.

The monarch gave the advice when members of the Igbo community in Adamawa State paid a thank-you visit to his palace in Yola in recognition of Igwe Godwin Omenaka as the Eze of the Igbo people in the state.
Lamido Barkindo, who appreciated the Igbo community for their contributions towards promoting peace and unity in Adamawa, urged them to sustain the spirit.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Muhammadu Jauro Baba, the Acting District Head of Jimeta, said the visit is to express appreciation for recognizing Igwe Godwin Omenaka as the Eze of the Igbo community in Adamawa.
 Baba, noted that the recognition had contributed significantly to strengthening relations between the Igbo and Hausa communities and resolving issues that previously existed among members of the two communities across the state.
The Acting District Head commended the Lamido Adamawa for the recognition, assuring him that Igwe Godwin Omenaka would remain loyal to the Lamido and the Adamawa Emirate Council.
In his remarks, the Eze of Igbo people in Adamawa, Igwe Godwin Omenaka, assured the Lamido that the Igbo community would remained law-abiding and committed to peaceful coexistence with other ethnic groups in the state.
Igwe Omenaka expressed appreciation to the Lamido for recognizing him as part of the Emirate’s traditional structure and promised to discharge his responsibilities diligently.
He also prayed to Almighty God to continue to grant the Lamido Adamawa wisdom and strength to lead the people and promote the development of society.
Also speaking, Obong Niditi of Akwa Ibom and Adamawa, Sunday Philip, described Lamido Adamawa as a man of peace, who demonstrates love and concern for his subjects irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
He also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his efforts towards promoting peace, unity and peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in Adamawa State.
The delegation comprised Igbo traditional leaders and other members of the Igbo community in the state and the diaspora.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a cow and kola nuts to the Lamido Adamawa as symbols of appreciation for recognizing Igwe Godwin Omenaka as the Eze of Igbo people in the state.
