Sources claim that a distress call was put to the police on the operations but all to no avail.
A resident of the area said, ‘’Kidnappers entered our area over the weekend, kidnapped a Police Sergeant and 2 other staff of NATU Water factory.
‘’I think, they wanted to kidnap the proprietor of NATU water, and they held 2 hours operation within the vicinity, ‘’ said a distraught female resident.
Another source said, ‘’ yes, it is true that distress call was put to police on the operations but before the arrival of the policemen the kidnappers have escaped with their victims.
‘’ The incident occurred near NATU water factor, on mile 6 bye pass,’’ the source added.
For now, the state police command is yet to give details of the incident as a text message by the state police public relation officer (PPRO), DSP David Misal reads as thus: ‘’I want to see my CP first over the incident before commenting.’’
Residents are now sleeping with two eyes opened due to incessant kidnappings with many deserting their homes for fear of uncertainty.
