A group of armed bandits attacked Karare Village in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, kidnapping two women and a baby.
The group also carted away with some valuables, including cows and food items
Saharareporters reported that a resident of the area, Mustapha Ruma, disclosed that the attackers invaded the area on Tuesday with dangerous weapons.
He stated that the group numbering close to 20, stormed the village on motorbikes. The bandits attacked many residents including the district head, Ciroma Ahmadu Karare, and abducted his 20-year-old daughter.
He also said that the group collected the mobile phone of the district head and gave him a new Subscriber Identity Module card in return to enable them contact him for ransom negitiation.
Moreso, a 23-year-old woman with a little child was also abducted during the attack.
Ruma decried the spate of attacks on Batsari LGA despite the deployment of soldiers to the area.
He noted that the situation had forced many residents to move out of the community, seeking safety elsewhere.
