The Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Mai Mala Buni, on Thursday, met separately with the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the former interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.
The committee was led by its Chairman, Buni, Senator Akpan Udeodehe, Secretary, and Abubakar Bello, the Niger State Governor.
Also, the group included the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu. The Committee was accompanied to Tinubu by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also, in Osun, the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, accompanied the Committee to meet behind closed door with the Akande in his Ila country home, Osun State.
The meeting is reported to have lasted for about an hour and focus on the assignment given to the committee.
Akande was reported to have advised the committee to discharge their duties dispassionately and without fear or favour.
The aide to the former Osun State Governor, Lani Baderinwa, added that the meeting was held behind closed doors.
Another source in Akande’s residence said the meeting was to intimate the former interim National Chairman about the committee’s plans.
The source said, “The committee members shared with Akande their plans and how they intend to go about their work.
“They also sought his input and guidance on the best way to approach their duties to have good results.”
