Senator Buruji Kashamu, former Ogun State lawmaker, has died.

Kashamu represented Ogun-East Senatorial District between 2015 and 2019. He died at First Cardiology Consultants, Lagos, according to his friend in a tweet.

The Hospital is the same facility where the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; and President Muhammadu Buhari’s former Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari, died.

The report said Kashamu was having diabetes and high blood pressure, he was admitted at the hospital for over a week before passing away.

A former lawmaker, Senator Ben Murry-Bruce, who confirmed his death, said the former Senator would be sorely missed.

On his verified Twitter Handle, Murry-Bruise writes, “I have just lost my good friend of forever to COVID-19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”
