New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Bauchi State has threatened to boycott the upcoming local governments’ elections slated for October 2020 in the state, saying the ruling PDP has perfected plans to rig the elections.

Recall that  NNPP in Bauchi State won only one house of assembly seat during 2019 general elections.

Mr Yusuf Musa Gumli, Caretaker Chairman of the party in Bauchi State who made allegations in an interview with newsmen said the party has lost confidence in the PDP led administration, which it says had already worked a rigging template.

Gumli said the state commissioner for local governments in Bauchi has already pre-empted that the ruling party will not allow any opposition party to win even a seat during the forthcoming polls billed to take place in October.

“I don’t think we are going to participate in that election because the party in power made us believe that there won’t be fairness.

“And I quote honorable commissioner for local governments saying sarcastically that they will be fair to opposition parties just as they were fair to them in other states.

“And we know that PDP lost in all the states that are not governed by their party.

“Definitely, that is what they are going to do it for us.

“So, it’s like he is pre-empting the outcome of the election. “So why should we delve into what we know certainly is planned?” Gulmi rhetorically asked.
