The procession took off from the Nasarawo area of Jimeta to Yola North local government Secretariat.
Addressing the women, the council chairman Yola North, Alhaji Uba Bappa assured members of the association the support of the government to the agitation to tackle rape and other forms of violence in the society.
Alhaji Uba thanked the group for complementing government efforts towards having a safer society, adding that his doors are always open for such initiatives.
“Fintiri led administration is working hard in addressing criminal activities including the notorious Shila Boys terrorizing residents of the state capital, the parent should therefore monitor the activities of their children and ensure their proper conduct in the society”. He said.
The chairperson, women’s wing of Laka Cultural Association of Nigeria, Adamawa state chapter Madam Sarah Justine explained that the campaign is to express worry and enlighten parents on the need to monitor children as well as expose rape cases in their communities.
