The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the curfew imposed on the state to curtail the arson and widespread violence that has ravaged the state might be ease by Friday or Saturday.

The governor said the easing would allow the Lagos state residents to restock food supplies and other essential commodities.

The governor said this on Thursday morning while speaking with AriseTV on the killings, he said, “Once we see the streets are cleared up and all the agitation and high nerves have gone down, we might slow down the curfew by tomorrow (Friday) or next tomorrow (Saturday) at the latest.”

Sanwo-Olu announced the imposition of the curfew on Tuesday afternoon following the unrest in the state.

Hoodlums had hijacked the #EndSARS protest against police brutality and extrajudicial killings to wreak havoc and cause mayhem in the state.

The situation escalated when soldiers, in their bid to disperse the protesters at Lekki toll gate, opened fire on the unarmed protesting youths.
