Governors of Borno , Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states are meeting in Yola,  the Adamawa  State capital with security topping the agenda of their discussion.

The meeting was a follow up to the one first held in Maiduguri, which was hosted by Governor Babagana Zulum.

This is the third meeting, and is being hosted by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Speaking, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno  was emphatic  that the #EndSARS protest was a consequence of massive unemployment.

The governor who doubles as the chairman of the North-east governor’s forum  said for the region to regain back the peace enterprise with which it is known, education sector must be revived while opportunities must be created for the teeming youth populace.

Zulum noted that the governors of the region are also making concerted efforts to regulate preaching to reduce negative influences of unwholesome preachers and to prevent the youth from being indoctrinated.

He said the policy will be stringently implemented while offenders will be diligently and duly punished.

Zulum noted said the governors are also putting measures to contain the rising cases of kidnappings, banditry and all forms of criminal ventures so as to enhance peaceful coexistence and economic activities.
