A judge of Federal High Court in Kano Lewis Allagoa has accused Kano office of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA with shielding drug dealers.

The Judge threatened not to entertain any NDLEA case henceforth since they deliberately omit the main culprits in trafficking drugs, only to bring the poor to face trial.

Mr Allagoa made the accusation while attending a case of a truck conductor Shehu Haruna accused with drug trafficking brought to the court by NDLEA.

Mr Allagoa also said he will not sentence the conductor who was found guilty of trafficking 233kg of Sativa, unless commander of the NDLEA in Kano Ibrahim Abdul appears before the court and explain why the driver and the truck that carried the illicit substance were omitted from the charges.

The judge said the evidence presented is at variance with the charge, and threatened to report the prosecution lawyer to the Bar Association .

Mr Haruna, a truck conductor was arrested by NDLEA with 233 kg of sativa at Kura town along Kano – Zaria road. But the driver and the truck belonging to a private company were not mentioned in the case.

The court has not fix a date for the appearance of the NDLEA commander.
