The Lagos State Government has announced that at least, 4,176 persons infected with coronavirus in Lagos State are currently undergoing home-based treatment amidst the second wave of the infections across Nigeria, and the world at large.

This figure was disclosed on Friday by the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi via his Twitter handle, @ProfAkinAbayomi, adding that 115 cases were in isolation.

The Commissioner wrote, “Total number of #COVID19 recovery in communities – 22,789; cases currently under isolation – 115; active cases under home-based care – 4,176; new #COVID19 related death – 3; total deaths – 240.”

He said the number of discharged COVID-19 cases from the state care centers is 2,901, adding that three new coronavirus-related deaths were recorded, adding that the total death recorded in the state is 240.

Abayomi identified the top five high burden local government areas with COVID-19 cases in the state, they included Eti-Osa, Ajeromi, Surulere, Amuwo-Odofin, and Mushin.

He then called on Lagosians to stay safe, avoid crowded places and celebrate responsibly. He warned that those who have no reason to move around should stay at home.
