The Adamawa state government will strengthen community policing, hunters and other civilian security outfits in the state, to help the security agencies fight criminality.
Governor Ahmadu Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state gave the assurance when he received in the audience the new Police Commissioner Adamu Aliyu Alhaji on a courtesy call in the Government House Yola, Tuesday.
“My administration will make the state free of crime and continue to support the security commands in the State in their operational need.
“You should go out after criminals with good security strategy as the Shila Boys cult group was a creation of politicians who are still supporting the cult group”, he said.
Fintiri assured the Commissioner of Police of maximum cooperation to fight crime and criminality in the state and applauded the former CP for surmounting security challenges in the State and called on him to follow their footprints.
“When I came in as the Governor of the state, I met serious security challenges ranging from kidnapping, cattle rustling, armed robbery, activities of the Shilla Boys among others.
“Within his six months in office, with the help of the police the security challenges were reduced drastically to management level”, Fintiri said.
The Governor expressed optimism that with the experience of the new CP the security challenges will be eradicated in Adamawa.
Earlier in his remark, the Commissioner of Police posted to the Adamawa, CP Adamu Aliyu Alhaji to inform Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri that he had assumed office on 18th January 2021and was acquainted with the achievements recorded by the Governor.
He assured to strategize the security architecture in the state so as to achieve good results and make Adamawa free of crime.
