…Sends 600 Hunters for Training at Police College Maiduguri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Monday presented a second set of thirty Hilux vans IVM to the 21 local government council chairmen in the state for onward distribution to hunters in their respective areas.

Similarly, ten motorcycles were also presented to “Operation Farauta” by the Governor to assist in reaching hard-to-find areas in the maintenance of peace across the state.

At the ceremony that was held in the Government House, Yola, Governor Umaru Fintiri charged the hunters to utilize the vehicles in tackling the issues of kidnappings, cattle rustling, and Shilla boys among other security threats.

“The state government will send another set of six hundred hunters to Police College Maiduguri for training having recently sent three hundred for that purpose.

“Hunters should be commended for complementing the efforts of security; government will continue to support them towards stemming the tide of security in the nooks and crannies of Adamawa.

“Government will collaborate with neighbouring states to maintain peace for economic and social activities in addition to promoting peace and development”, Fintiri said.

The Governor lauded local government council chairmen for maintaining peace in their respective areas and urged them to continue in that regard, reassured the present administration’s commitment towards protecting lives and property of the citizenry.

In a remark, the State Chairman of All Local Governments of Nigeria, (ALGON) Alhaji Jingi Rufai who is the Chairman of Mubi South Local Government Council lauds Governor Umaru Fintiri for according security sector a priority.

He expressed the readiness of the local government chairmen to ensure maintenance of the vehicles for them to stand the test of time and for the overall development of the state.

Contributing, the State Chairman of Nigeria Hunters Association, Alhaji Mohammed Usman Tola thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for providing the vehicles, noted that it will facilitate their operations towards maintenance of peace in the state.
