Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has dismissed his media aide, Salihu Tanko-Yakasa for calling out the failure of the Buhari-led administration.
The state commissioner of information, Mohammed Garba announced this development in a statement made public on Saturday.
Following the abduction of 317 schoolgirls from a secondary school in Jangebe, Zamfara state, Tanko-Yakasa in a tweet via his Twitter handle pointed the failure of the ruling party in ensuring peace and security of the citizens.
“Clearly, we as [the] APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign,” he had tweeted.
According to the commissioner of information, Salihu-Tanko had failed to differentiate between personal opinion and official state in addressing matters of public concern.
“The governor also warned political appointees and public servants to guard against making statements capable of drawing superfluous controversy
“The statement reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ganduje to the policies and programmes of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari,” the commissioner said.
Also, the sacked media aide was arrested in Kano on Friday evening and is currently being held at the state security services (SSS).
