The Kano State Government has ordered the closure of four tertiary institutions in the state over insecurity in Nigeria’s northwest region.
The affected schools include RMK College of Advanced and Remedial Studies Tudun Wada, School of Environmental Studies Gwarzo, School of Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship Development (SORTED) Rano, and ABCOAD Dambatta.
The order came just a day after the state closed 10 boarding schools due to rising cases of students abduction for ransom by the terrorists from secondary schools in the Northern part of the country.
D.r Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, Commissioner of Higher Education in the state, in a statement on Saturday, said the order was with immediate effect.
“With this instruction, all students of the affected schools are advised to vacate the campuses as soon as possible,” she said.
The Commissioner state that a date for school reopening would be communicated later.
