Following the assent of President Muhammadu Buhari for the conversion of Federal University of Technology Yola to Modibbo Adama University, the management of the institution has concluded arrangements to run a conventional university.

Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur, Vice-Chancellor of the institution who disclosed this said the university is 100% ready to take up its new status as more management courses are already underway while hostel accommodation has been provided for more students.

“We are 100% ready to face the new conventional status as more management courses would be introduced soon while 28% of our students are housed in our hostel facilities.

“A committee headed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic to ensure smooth conversion of the university has been put in place and is working to ensure a hitch free process, is taking cognizance of both the long and medium term plans”, Tukur said.

The Vice Chancellor said the law establishing the university has never prevented them from running conventional courses noting that such made the conversion process an easy sail.

Tukur stated that resources are already on ground for the smooth take off of Medical College with over five (5) hectares of land earmarked for the complex, said already contractors will mobilize to site for the construction of administrative block, 2 lecture theatres and laboratories for the new college.
