The leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Adamawa State has declared fasting and prayers to seek God’s intervention for the release of its member, Mrs. Amrah Ahmed Diska.

Mrs. Amrah, who is a News Editor with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola, is also a nursing mother who was kidnapped on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

It was gathered that abductors of the female editor have established contact with her family and have demanded huge payment in lieu of her freedom.

A statement signed by Fidelis Jockthan, the council secretary said, “the entire secretariat has been saddened over the Development.

“All practicing journalists in Adamawa State and beyond have been implored to seek divine intervention for the safety of our colleague by fasting and praying for her immediate release. Her 6months old baby is also in stable condition,” the statement said.

The National Secretariat of NUJ has also expressed worry over the incident.
