YOLA — Due to incessant killings across the country, a non-governmental organization based in Yola, “Adamawa Coalition Against Rape” on Tuesday converged at the Fire Service Roundabout Jimeta in the state capital displayed shoes of those presumed to have died during the conflict in the state.

Members of the coalition dressed in black attire also carried placards with various inscriptions sending messages to those perpetrating the acts and their collaborators on the consequences of their acts.
Some of the placards read “stop the killing of our husbands”, “Stop the killing of our sons/daughters” and “Soles for Souls”.
Commenting, a member of the coalition, Farah James said the action of the coalition is to express their concern over the killings in the country.
She lamented that their husbands and children are being killed unnecessarily on a daily basis and called on the government to tighten up security to safeguard the lives and properties of the citizens.
“The shoes displayed to symbolize the people that were killed in various violence and conflict. We are not in support of altercation and blood-shedding in the country, we are saying stop it.
“Our community should be security conscious and let’s come out and say no to all these killings, the killings are reducing the populations,” she added.
