NNEWI — The former Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State chapter, Prof. Obi Nwosu has enjoined journalists to be fair, truthful, objective, and impartial in discharging their duties as the fourth estate of the realm.

The renowned Gynecologist who is the Chief Medical Director of Chimex Specialist hospital and Maternity, Nnewi stated this in his office while relating to our reporter about his views of having a Nnewi indigene emerg as next governor come November 6th,2021.

According to him,  ” The Nnewi Contemporaries, an association of men of goodwill who have penchant for transparency and equity in administration is working hard at promoting and supporting a qualified gubernatorial candidate of Nnewi descent.

“Members of Nnewi contemporaries are men of unquestionable characters that had succeeded in various fields of endeavors,” he said.

Reacting to Nnewi’s chance of producing a governor, the highly placed physician said; “God’s willing Nnewi will produce the governor because Nnewi has a confirmed and credible contender in the name of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah”.

He enthused that it is long overdue that Nnewi should produce a governor; “Nnewi agenda still stands.”

We are projecting a son of the soil that would have listening ears and lead the entire Anambra State to the promised land. The simple opinion is that majority of the Old Nnewi Association comprising Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo and Ihiala will throw their weight around Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah. He said we cannot have a 100% good or best politician but I assure you that Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah will simply deliver the dividends of democracy to the masses which is the beauty of democracy.

Expressing his concern for political parties with factions which have led to grumbling and grievances among party members, Prof. Nwosu advised that executive members of the parties should sort out their difference in a bid to avoid protest vote.

However, he said other candidates are qualified with their respective antecedents hence, he wishes them well.
Once more, he reiterated by admonishing journalists to be truthful because they are gatekeepers of information and watch-dogs of the society:

“Now that Anambra gubernatorial race is on course, don’t collect money from the highest bidders to rubbish the reputation of other contenders, we don’t want Imo politics or election in Anambra state, please be impartial and objective in your reportage.” Prof. Nwosu appealed.
