As banditry activities continue to heighten in Zamfara state, gunmen on Tuesday, abducted the Emir of Bungudu in the state, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

A source disclosed that the gunmen opened fire on the convoy of the first-class monarch before whisking him to an unknown destination.

Bandits were said to have opened fire on the monarch’s convoy and his security aides responded with shots, but were overpowered them and successfully demobilized some of the vehicles, including that of the traditional ruler before he was taken away.

As of now, neither security operatives nor the government reacted to the incident.
